יש לי על ביקורת סרט שהוא גם ספר, וזה די קצר וגם כדי שתעברי על זה כי זה מדבר גם על הסרט וגם על הספר...

name of movie: the giver
the giver is a science fiction movie from 2014 based on the first book of the giver series, directed by philip noyce and written by michael mitick and robert b. vida. the movie features jeff bridges academy award winner, golden globe award and screen actors guild award, who plays the giver, meryl streep who plays the head of the council of elders, brenton twights who plays the main character, the hero jonas, alexander scarsgaard who plays jonas' father, odia resch who plays fiona, katie holmes who plays jonas' mother, emma tremblay who plays jonas' sister lily and taylor swift, who plays the givers' daughter!
the giver tells of a world after the destruction, that the rulers have decided to make sure that there will be no more wars by obliterating feelings from the lives of the citizens, and by taking their right of choice. they are actually robots who see the world in black and white, so that colors will not upset their minds too much. the rulers, of course, are convinced that they are doing the right thing, and, here's another interesting moment of cinematic twist: this film begins in black and white and as jonas becomes more aware of his surroundings, the film begins to get color.
the hero of the film is jonas. according to the book, when he was 12 (the movie does not specify ages), he receives his work from the community, was chosen to be the recipient - the only citizen who has memories of the past. he receives information from the elders of the tribe, the recipient who was before him, and then the old man becomes the giver and jonas becomes the recipient. jonas reveals the life beyond the world in which he lives, the world of the past- a world of excitement and color. but along with the singing, the dancing, and the amazing colors - there is the other side of the coin, the side of wars and pain, the loss of everything.
when jonas reveals his feelings he begins to experience them every day. instead of living the gray life of everything else, he reveals how it is to live with hesitation, with regrets, with a lack of knowledge of what tomorrow will bring, and finally, he falls in love.
although to my opinion the giver feels a little bit like a mixed of the hunger games and the splits, and it's not original at all, i recommend it for all ages, because every time you read the book or see the movie, you find it more interesting, complicating and challenging. the giver is one of the few movies that if you see it once, you will not be able to forget it!
