hi, i've decided to answer you in english because i also made an aliya from the usa about a decade ago, and i know how it feels, to be alone with a language barrier. try to ask your hebrew teacher for help, maybe ask your parents, go to an ulpan and read books in hebrew. if you read a book in english, try to read it in hebrew and see if you'll understand. you can use morfix.
